Allison L. Payne
SUBJECT SET: ALCOHOL (2009)

Mrs. Principal

Allison L. Payne's passion is acting. She is featured as Mrs. Principal in the sketch comedy "Alcohol Bait & Switch!" which, together with drama "Alcohol At Wit's End" and adventure "Alcohol and Class Action," comprise WCEE.net's "Subject Set: Alcohol (2009)."

WCEE.net's "Subject Set" is the most complete virtual experience brand in educational entertainment. It is based on, and expanded from, the 1985 Film Ideas, Inc. release "The Subject of a Moment" that School Library Journal called "exceptionally well acted and carefully shot... strong impact without being preachy... outstanding... an excellent purchase choice," and Simon & Schuster called "very high quality... quite impressive... accurate... real..."

Payne is a native and resident of Oakland, California. She is a proud member of the Actor's Equity Association and holds a M.A. in Drama Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She also studied film at Full Circle Productions.

Payne has worked on numerous industrial shoots for companies such as State Comp, Nexium, Oracle, Kaiser and Wells Fargo. She recently finished work on the short film "Edgewise" written and produced by Jan Stites and directed by KTVU's Steve Shlisky.

As a Theatre Actress Payne also recently finished "The Story" at SF Playhouse, The 10th anniversary of LHT's Black Nativity, and toured from Stanford University to Paris with the BACC award winning Word For Word and Lorraine Hansberry co-production of James Baldwin's "Sonny's Blues," for which she won the 2008 Bay Area Critics Circle Award for Best Ensemble (over 300 seats).

Payne considers herself "an all things Nature kind of girl. I love hanging out with my pets, taking photographs of scenic environments, meditating, gardening, writing poetry, spending time with close friends and family, having genuine conversation, and spreading Joy!"

Payne is currently involved in workshop on a new theatre piece that has yet to be announced.
