SUBJECT SET: ALCOHOL (2009)

Oliver Powers

Ruben "Matai" Oriol-Rivera is an accomplished multi-talent. He special guest stars as Oliver Powers in both the drama "Alcohol At Wit's End" and sketch comedy "Alcohol Bait & Switch!" The two franchises, along with adventure "Alcohol and Class Action," constitute WCEE.net's "Subject Set: Alcohol (2009)."

WCEE.net's "Subject Set" is the most complete virtual experience brand in educational entertainment. It is based on, and expanded from, the 1985 Film Ideas, Inc. release "The Subject of a Moment" that School Library Journal called "exceptionally well acted and carefully shot... strong impact without being preachy... outstanding... an excellent purchase choice," and Simon & Schuster called "very high quality... quite impressive... accurate... real..."

Oriol-Rivera is a native of Vallejo, California. He obtained his Associates Degree in Theatre Arts, and is a Graduate of the Actors Training Program, at Solano Community College.

Oriol-Rivera has been cast as Benny in an upcoming San Francisco production of "Rent," and is currently appearing as Squeeler in "Animal Farm." He most recently appeared in the Solano Repertory Theater productions of "Cats" as Munkustrap, and "Hair" as Seeds and Munk. He has also appeared in productions of "Sacagawea," "The Kentucky Cycle," "Migrant Farm," and "The House of Ramon Iglesia." His film credits include "Reality TV-The Movie," "Streets of Dead," and "Jackpot."

As Matai he is an accomplished singer-songwriter, producer, and dancer. He is winner of the L.A. Music Awards' 2006 Independent R&B Artist of the Year, and is currently signed to the Tokyo label P-Vine Records.

Oriol-Rivera divides his time between Los Angeles and the Bay Area. He enjoys music, baseball, and spending time with his wife and kids.
